Update Microsoft platform to use latest Bp Premier version
Do you know that recently Microsoft has discontinued extended support for various older versions of their Windows as well as SQL platforms? These include:
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003 (including SBS versions)
- Windows Vista
- SQL Server 2005 (all variants)
Also, Microsoft is currently not providing updates to technologies that may be used in Bp Premier for the following OS:
- Windows 8
- Server 2008
So if you are still using one of these retiring platforms, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade as soon as possible.
Bp Premier LAVA as well as its service packs are the last versions of Bp Premier that would support these Operating Systems & versions of SQL.
Failing to upgrade will not only prevent you from taking the benefits of the latest software releases, but also you should be aware of the risks associated with using older versions of Microsoft. It can put your medical Practice at a higher risk of exposing your system to cyber-attacks.
Also it is important for you to know that Best Practice will be releasing a new version of Bp Premier – Indigo – this year at the end of March, which will not be supporting Windows 2008 or earlier Microsoft platforms. This new release of Bp Premier will be supporting:
- Windows 7
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10
- Server 2008 R2
- Server 2012
- Server 2016
So if you want to take advantage of the latest versions of Bp Premier with minimal disruption to your medical Practice, it is important for you to upgrade from older Microsoft versions.
