Now Update Your Microsoft Platform to Take Benefits of The Latest Versions of Bp Premier
Is your medical practice still using older versions of Windows and SQL platforms? Then, it’s time for you to sit down & have a read about the “elephant in the room” that can have major implications for your medical Practice.
Recently Microsoft has ended extended support for various older versions of their Windows as well as SQL platforms. These include:
- Windows XP
- Windows 2003 (including SBS versions)
- Windows Vista
- SQL Server 2005 (all variants)
Microsoft is also not providing updates to technologies that may be used in Bp Premier for the following OS:
- Windows 8
- Server 2008
So it is strongly recommended that you bid farewel to these retiring platforms and consider upgrading as early as possible. BP can only effectively support versions that are currently supported by Microsoft.
Bp Premier LAVA & its service packs are the last versions of Bp Premier that will be supporting these OS as well as versions of SQL.
If you do not upgrade, you will not be able to take benefits of the latest software releases. Also, your medical practice should be aware of the risks associated with using older Microsoft versions. Failing to upgrade may put your medical Practice at a higher risk of exposing your system to cyber-attacks which obviously you will not want.
And for your information, Best Practice will be releasing a new version of Bp Premier – Indigo – at the end of March this year, which won’t be supporting Windows 2008 or earlier Microsoft platforms. This new release of Bp Premier will be supporting:
- Windows 7
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10
- Server 2008 R2
- Server 2012
- Server 2012 R2
- Server 2016
However, if it is not possible for you to update your Microsoft platform now, please note that Bp Premier LAVA as well as all its service packs can be still used. Bug fixes will be made where possible but one of the main reasons BP is continually developing as well as refining Bp Premier is so these bug fixes are not needed.
So it is better for you to upgrade so you can take benefits of the latest versions of Bp Premier with minimal disruption to your medical Practice.
